Waste management is a major challenge in West Dilunto due to a lack of public awareness regarding the proper separation of organic, non-organic, and B3 (Hazardous and Toxic Materials) waste. This problem leads to a less clean environment and increases the risk of pollution, which can impact public health. Furthermore, the lack of waste bins appropriate for each type of waste contributes to low public participation in adopting a clean and environmentally conscious lifestyle. The community service program conducted by students of the Padang State University (UNP) Community Service Program (KKN) aims to raise environmental awareness through a program to create bins for organic, non-organic, and B3 waste. This program is implemented as a concrete implementation to support waste sorting behavior in the community. Activities include outreach on the importance of waste management, education about the negative impacts of waste on the environment, the creation of bins according to category, and the placement of bins in strategic locations within easy reach of residents. Through this program, organic waste can be composted, non-organic waste can be recycled, while B3 waste requires special handling to prevent environmental pollution. The results of this activity indicate increased public awareness and concern for environmental cleanliness, as well as the development of a habit of sorting waste according to its type. However, ongoing efforts, mentoring, and collaboration between the community, students, and the local government are needed for the program to run optimally and have a long-term impact on environmental cleanliness in West Dilunto.
