Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dalam Penguatan Ketahanan Pangan Menuju Desa yang Berkelanjutan di Desa Mojosarirejo, Kecamatan Driyorejo

Abstract

Food security is a crucial aspect of supporting community well-being and sustainable village development. Land constraints and the need for wise resource utilization have spurred the emergence of simple innovations applicable within the community. This initiative aims to empower the residents of Mojosarirejo Village, Driyorejo District, through the Bucket-based fish farming program effort to strengthen food security while productively repurposing used materials. The activity employed a descriptive-qualitative method with a participatory approach. Data collection involved observation, informal interviews, documentation, and ongoing monitoring throughout the process. The stages of the activity included observation, preparation, outreach/socialization, practical application, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. Residents were directly involved in preparing used large water jugs bucked as containers, setting up cultivation media, introducing fish, and learning feeding and maintenance techniques. The results indicate that Bucket-based fish farming serves as a simple, easily implemented alternative for fish farming in limited spaces, while also enhancing community knowledge and skills. Repurposing used jugs offers environmental benefits by giving new life to discarded items. The program is expected to foster household food self-sufficiency, raise environmental awareness, and encourage the community to independently sustain and expand the initiative, thereby moving toward a sustainable village. This activity demonstrates that empowerment based on local potential can integrate social, food, environmental, and skill-building aspects through simple, sustainable practices that are tangible in the community's daily life.
